Improving Housing Responses to Indigenous Patterns of Temporary Mobility
This project was concerned with Indigenous patterns of mobility and social housing responses to these patterns. The research identified types of mobility amongst Indigenous people and the link between mobility and the risk of falling into homelessness. It also outlined how housing policy-makers might respond to increased rates of temporary mobility of Indigenous people.

In this paper, school readiness for Indigenous Australian children is investigated from the basis of the strengths of all concerned - children, families, educators and communities. Research is analysed and programs are described.

SDN Children's Services released a report titled Aboriginal Access to Preschool: What attracts and retains Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in preschools?
Although this qualitative and quantitative study is relatively small, it provides interesting data into what Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) families look for when choosing a preschool: what aspects and characteristics make them feel welcomed and, over time, give a sense of belonging. Data from preschool staff and directors also provide revealing insights into what they believe works and doesn't work in attracting and retaining Aboriginal families in mainstream preschools.

Type 2 Diabetes Website for Indigenous People

Taking the Initiative Resource
Taking the Initiative has been designed for police around Australia, to help them get to know what other jurisdictions are doing to improve their relationships with Australia's new arrivals.
It is also a useful resource for settlement service providers and others interested in learning about the work being undertaken by police, how it is planned and implemented.

New Citizenship Resource Kit for Schools Released
In November the Australian Government released a new citizenship resource kit for use by upper primary and lower secondary students. Its release coincides with the sixtieth anniversary of Australian citizenship.Senator Chris Evans, Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, said the kit would help all students to understand the significance of citizenship. He added that the kit would help students appreciate the contribution made to Australia by people from diverse backgrounds, whose journey to Australia was completed when they became citizens.

Funding Sources for Indigenous Initiatives
The Guide to Australian Government Funding Sources provides information on funding and assistance programs that may be available from Australian Government departments and their agencies, and from private entities, for initiatives which might be associated with native title and related agreements, including Indigenous Land Use Agreements.

The Cultural Awareness Self-Assessment Toolkit (CASAT) is a set of good practice standards developed to assist community service organisations improve the quality of their services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities and to improve the organisation's knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
