Household Paint & Chemical Drop-Off Days
Logan residents can bring up to 10 litres of some chemicals to the Greenbank and Beenleigh Transfer Stations between 8am and 4pm on Saturday 6 May 2017 for disposal free of charge.
These materials include solvent and water based paints, pesticides, arsenic based materials, photographic solutions, pharmaceuticals, acids, alkalis, solvents, pool chlorine and petrol. Materials that do not fall into the pre-mentioned categories will not be accepted.
Please note that Council will be retaining all the containers that paint and chemicals are presented in.
Materials such as fluorescent tubes, cooking oil, vehicle batteries, domestic smoke detectors, rechargeable batteries, mobile phones and accessories, sharps (used syringes - residents only) and tyres are accepted at the landfill 365 days per year. There is no charge for disposal of these materials with the exception of motor oil ($0.30 per litre for every litre in excess of 25 litres) and tyres (ranging from $3.00 for car tyres).
Paint, which has been allowed to harden, is accepted 365 days per year and is also the subject of standard disposal fees.
