River Trees Initiative

To support the recently launched Logan River Vision 2017-2067 (, Logan City Council has developed the Logan River Trees Initiative. This is a Logan City Council initiative aimed at improving the riverside vegetation cover on private properties along the Logan River. The initiative provided landholders with the opportunity to apply for up to 1000 free native tube stock to undertake revegetation of the river banks on their property. This initiative will help to reduce erosion, improve water quality, habitat linkage and improve the natural values of the Logan River.

So far this project has been a success with the approval of over 19,000 trees to be supplied to local landholders alone the river. Looking forward this project is expected to be rolled out in subsequent years, however this time with the inclusion of land holders along the Albert River.
