Art + Dementia Program

Art + Dementia is a discussion-based tour of works of art to provide intellectual stimulation and social inclusion for people with dementia and their companions. Facilitated by our trained volunteers, the participants are encouraged to contribute knowledge, engage in interpretation, express emotions and recall memories. Involvement  in this nationwide program has been shown to increase well-being and quality of life for participants. If you or someone you know would benefit from this program, please contact Logan Art Gallery on 3412 5519 or via email artgallery@logan.qld.gov.au

Creative-in-Residence

Visit Logan Art Gallery’s Creative-in-Residence (CiR), Sandra Conte and talk with her about her project ‘Creative communing with (stingless native) bees'.  Sandra will be in residence at the Gallery most Thursday and Friday mornings during April and May, but you can see her bees in residence in the Gallery's courtyard every day.

Public farewell to the hive

Saturday 28 May, 10.30am

As the Creative in Residence draws to a close join the artists involved in the project for an informal morning tea in the gallery courtyard, where you can learn about the project and say farewell the hive.

The CiR is supported through the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Logan City Council to support local arts and culture.
