Artist Exchange Program (Double Vision)
Call for Expressions of Interest
Logan City Council is calling for expressions of interest from artists across the spectrum of creative fields – visual artists, performers, writers and designers, etc, to participate in an Arts Exchange Program (Double Vision) with the City of Onkaparinga in South Australia in 2012.
Up to five Logan artists will be selected to travel to Onkaparinga in April/May 2012 and over five days tour the region and meet the Onkaparinga artists selected for the exchange program.
Out of this trip each Logan artist will be required to make new works about and inspired by
Onkaparinga. Likewise the Onkaparinga artists will do the same after they visit Logan in April/May.
New works produced by the selected Logan artists will be presented to Logan City Council by 24 August and a final selection of work will be made before works are shipped to Onkaparinga in October to be exhibited in tandem with the works by Onkaparinga artists. The exhibition will embrace the range of artforms selected and will, in liaison with the artist, appropriately present the work created eg this may involve presenting a dance piece as a film or a piece of writing as a sound work.
The exhibition may tour further in South Australia after its opening in Onkaparinga in October but will return to Logan in early 2013 for a showing at Logan Art Gallery.
Artist airfares and other travel, accommodation and food will be covered as part of the exchange.
This arts exchange project is supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF). RADF is a Queensland Government and Logan City partnership to support local arts and culture.
