Beenleigh Aquatic Centre Redevelopment

On 24 June 2016, the Queensland Government notified that Council was successful in securing $1,500,000.00 to help redevelop the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre. Together with Council's contribution of $3,054,000 the total project budget is $4,554,000.00.

When completed, Stage 1 of the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre Redevelopment Plan will include:

  • Construction of an indoor heated program pool that will include a spectator viewing area, kiosk, office and plant equipment and change facilities
  • Construction of a Water Play Area

Show us the way to water play competition

Throughout March 2017, Council sought help from children to design the new Water Play Area for the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre Redevelopment.

Council is now collecting all entries and they will be judged for their creativity and ability to inform the final design of the Water Play Area.

All winners will be announced shortly.

What happens next?

Council is currently in the process of appointing a Consultant to finalise the designs for the Redevelopment. As part of this, the Consultant is expected to transform the ideas received as part of the 'Show us the way to water play' competition into the final design. Council will look to share this final design once it has been received.
