Beenleigh Aquatic Centre Redevelopment

On 24 June 2016, the Queensland Government notified that Council was successful in securing $1,500,000.00 to help redevelop the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre. Together with Council's contribution of $3,054,000 the total project budget is $4,554,000.00.

When completed, Stage 1 of the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre Redevelopment Plan will include:

  • Construction of an indoor heated program pool that will include a spectator viewing area, kiosk, office and plant equipment and change facilities
  • Construction of a Water Play Area

Show us the way to water play competition

Throughout March 2017, Council sought help from children to design the new Water Play Area for the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre Redevelopment. In total, an overwhelming 176 entries were received.

Council would like to thank all participants of the competition. Council greatly appreciates the time to assist in designing a Water Play area that truly responds to the needs of the community.

What happens next?

Council has appointed a Consultant to finalise the designs for the Redevelopment. As part of this, the Consultant is expected to transform the ideas received as part of the 'Show us the way to water play' competition into the final design.
