Facebook

You can keep up to date with Council events, programs, initiatives and activities in Logan City by 'liking us' on Facebook at www.facebook.com/logancitycouncil.

Council’s Facebook page is used as an important tool to actively engage with and inform the community. It acts as a place for discussion, enquiries and an active exchange of thoughts and ideas.

Comments and Wall posts

Council's Facebook page is managed by the Digital Marketing team of the Community Engagement and Marketing branch. We will reply to you as quickly as possible, however we are available during business hours only. We encourage individuals to contact Council directly for specific or urgent enquiries.

We welcome your comments and do not discriminate against any views.  We encourage you to discuss and share opinions with others and Council via our Facebook page. However, spam (including unrelated Council issues, defamatory posts and comments, business promotion and/or multiple posts) will be removed.

We support the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and related Facebook policies, and we request our users do the same.

Please contact Council via phone, email, in writing or via our online enquiries and feedback form if you have a formal request or enquiry, a complaint, or a comment for a community consultation project.

Moderating Council’s Facebook Page

In order to ensure Council’s Facebook page remains friendly and welcoming for all visitors, we do moderate the page when needed. We ask that when contributing your views to Logan City Council’s Facebook page, you ensure that you:

  • Do not harrass, abuse, threaten or discriminate against other Facebook users on our page.
  • Do not post items that are likely to offend others, particularly in reference to an individual or group’s age, disability, gender, political leaning, race, religion or sexuality.
  • Do not mention an individual by name without permission of the person.
  • Do not use obscene or offensive language.
  • Do not post repeat comments continuously.
  • Do not promote commercial interests, advertisements or endorsements, including links, of anything that is not Council related. This will be considered as “spam” and will be deleted.
  • Do protect your personal privacy by not publicly posting personal information, such as email addresses, phone numbers and home addresses on Council’s Facebook wall.
  • Do post in English so that other users are able to read and understand the posts.

If the above guidelines are not adhered to, we will moderate and potentially remove your comment/s.
