Food Safety Training
All food businesses have obligations to produce safe food and Council is assisting food businesses to meet these obligations by providing free access to the I'M ALERT online food safety training tool. Refer to the I'M ALERT frequently asked questions (PDF 720 KB) fact sheet for more information.
There is a high demand for training within the food sector. The I'M ALERT program will assist food handlers in developing the required skills and knowledge to ensure food is handled in a safe and hygienic manner.
I'M ALERT is easy to follow, includes an entertaining presentation as well as interactive quizzes. A training acknowledgement form can be printed and emailed upon completion and be kept as a part of your staff records.
The training has been designed to be completed in one session; however you can select only a few sections and receive a certificate just for those completed. You will need to enter the site again at a later time to complete the rest of the training. Please note the system will not remember any of your previous settings or the sections you had already completed.

Are you a food handler or community event organiser involved with, or planning to be involved with, temporary food stalls for a community event in Logan?
Council will run free food safety education sessions to help people meet legislative requirements and minimise potential food safety risks.
The sessions will cover:
- Temperature control
- Waste management
If you require a licence for a temporary food stall, you will also have the opportunity to have your completed application form checked by an Environmental Health Officer on the day.
