On-Site Sewerage Facilities
Council is currently reviewing its local laws relating to on-site sewerage facilities. The proposed local laws are Local Law No. 13 (On-Site Sewerage Operations and Servicing) 2011 and Subordinate Local Law No. 13.1 (On-Site Sewerage Operations and Servicing) 2011.
An "on-site sewerage facility" is a facility or plant installed on premises for:
- treating sewerage and disposing of it on the premises
- storing sewerage on the premises to be collected and disposed of offsite
The object of the on-site sewerage local law and subordinate local law is to:
- protect the health of the public
- protect the environment
- ensure that on-site sewerage facilities are maintained and operated appropriately.
Other related local laws
Council is also amending Local Law No. 2 (Administration) 2001 to apply to Local Law No. 13 (On-Site Sewerage Operations and Servicing) 2011.

The proposed local law and amending local law are currently with the relevant state government departments for State Interest Check.
