Residential Services Accreditation
What is a building compliance notice?
Council issues building compliance notices in relation to residential accommodation services operating within Logan city, such as private boarding houses, supported accommodation hostel or aged rental accommodation.
A building compliance notice is usually requested by the Queensland government when a provider registers a new residential service with the government, or renews an accreditation on a periodic basis. The purpose of obtaining a building compliance notice process is to confirm that the residential services accommodation provides suitable standards of health, safety and amenity for residents.
Council's assessment process
Obtaining a building compliance notice involves an assessment by Council of the facility against the requirements of the Queensland Development Code, which will involve an inspection of the premises by qualified Council staff.
