Information for Building Certifiers

Shared responsibility for building approval documentation records

Council is responsible for keeping records of building approval and certification information for approvals issued in Logan city.

To enable us to do this, it is a legislative requirement that a building certifier must lodge with Council, within five business days, the following :

  • Notice of engagement
  • Decision notice, approved building plans and any other relevant documentation required by the legislation
  • Completion details (including Final Inspection Certificate and Certificate of Classification) and any other documents relating to the certification and acceptance of the completed building work.

We believe it is important that these documents are always supplied to us within these timeframes, as it ensures the ongoing integrity of our records for the benefit of the community.

The fees and charges associated with the lodgement of this documentation can be found here.
