Siting Variations
A 'Siting Variation' application is required to be submitted to Council where:
- A building or structure is not consistent with front, side or rear property boundaries as mentioned in the relevant part of the Queensland Development Code
- A building or structure has a site coverage that exceeds the requirements as mentioned in the relevant part of the Queensland Development Code
Amenity and Aesthetics Assessment
An 'Amenity and Aesthetics Assessment' is required for Class 10 buildings where Detached Dwellings are considered to be 'Self Assessable' and an application is to be submitted to Council where:
- A Class 10 building or structure that exceeds the requirements in the table below:

| Over 5,000 square metres | 72 square metres |
- A Class 10 building or structure having a height of more than 4.5 metres or a mean height of more than 3.5 metres above the natural ground level.

Please note: This application type only applies for applications within the Gold Coast planning scheme area.
