About the Beenleigh Centre

Logan City sits within a significant growth corridor between two thriving world class cities (Brisbane and the Gold Coast), placing Logan as a city of regional and national significance.

Logan City is home to a network of activity centres that includes Meadowbrook, Springwood, Logan Central and Beenleigh. Each Centre is strategically located along the high frequency Brisbane to Gold Coast rail corridor and the Pacific Motorway providing strong links to adjoining Brisbane and Gold Coast local government areas. These major pieces of infrastructure accommodate a significant growth corridor for infill development, employment and services.

A shared vision

While the centres contain a number of commercial and retail functions they each play an important role that is complementary and integral to the success of Logan City: Beenleigh is a compact and vibrant centre known for its fine grain retailing, Meadowbrook is a centre focused on health and wellbeing, Logan Central is the civic and cultural heart of Logan City and Springwood provides a diverse range of big box retailing.

Council is committed to establishing a growth corridor of state significance that encompasses these four activity centres which are highly connected, safe, healthy and sustainable.

Since 2008, Council has completed master plans for Beenleigh, Springwood, Logan Central and Meadowbrook to inform the future growth and revitalisation of these four key activity centres.

These four master plans contain a shared vision of:

  • Legibility – elevating the importance of green and social infrastructure
  • Accessibility – ensuring our activity centres are well connected at both a regional and local level
  • Diversity – providing good employment and housing options

The Beenleigh Town Centre Master Plan identifies the creation of the Beenleigh Town Square project as a key catalyst project that will contribute towards the revitalisation and realising the shared vision for Beenleigh.

Beenleigh is one of four key activity centres (Meadowbrook, Springwood, Logan Central and Beenleigh) with each centre playing an important role that is complementary and integral to the success of Logan City. Beenleigh plays the role of a compact and vibrant centre known for its fine grain retailing and rich heritage and history. It supplements the commercial and administrative roles of Springwood and Logan Central and generates employment for the surrounding community.

Beenleigh is strategically located along the high frequency Brisbane to Gold Coast rail corridor and the Pacific Motorway providing strong links to adjoining Brisbane and Gold Coast local government areas. Beenleigh's proximity to these two major employment generators and its availability of affordable housing and land supply makes it an attractive investment location.

Beenleigh's urban design story encompasses Logan City's four urban design themes:
