Safety

Crime, and the perception of safety in Logan City, have consistently been issues for residents.

Council has recently resolved to initiate action, in partnership with other government agencies, on a limited range of crime preventive measures that will be implemented in the immediate future. These actions are represented in Creating a Safer City (PDF 1105 KB).

This program involves community organisations and agencies working together in addressing crime prevention initiatives and creating innovative programs to address developmental, situational, criminal justice and community based crime prevention approaches.

It is recognised that the causes of crime are complex issues which require ongoing deliberative partnership based approaches if the incidents of crime are to be reduced. These issues are also addressed by the Safe City Advisory Committee.
