Book soon for holiday fun

Woodwork projects, youth first aid, skateboarding and fishing competitions will all be on offer as part of Logan City Council’s upcoming school holiday program.

City Lifestyle and Customer Services Committee Chairperson Councillor Steve Swenson said bookings for the KRANK School Holiday Program would open on 11 September.

Cr Swenson said the program would run from 16 September until 1 October, 2017.

“KRANK is a school holiday program for Logan residents aged five to 17-years-old which offers a variety of free and low cost activities,” he said.

“The program for the upcoming holidays includes a wide range of both outdoor and indoor activities guaranteed to keep holiday boredom at bay.

"These include scooter, freestyle BMX, introduction to gym classes, kneeboarding, photography, hip hop dancing, mountain biking, kayaking, drumming and a family movie night."

The KRANK School Holiday program booklet for five to 17-year-olds can be downloaded online from www.logan.qld.gov.au/krank

As spaces are limited, bookings are essential. Please ring the number listed with each activity for bookings and enquiries.

All participants are required to complete one registration form per activity and provide the completed form to the service provider of their chosen activity.

This form can be downloaded at www.logan.qld.gov.au/krank

Inquiries about the program can be directed to Council's Community Services Branch on 3412 3412.

The upcoming school holidays will also include the ImagiNation Children’s Festival running from 16 September to 1 October.

Activities to choose from include go-karting, water skiing, chocolate factory tours and nature trails, as well as robotics, photography, arts and cooking workshops.

Booking early is recommended, as some free and ticketed events have limited spaces available.
