Santa, soccer stars and more than 500 people today enjoyed the City of Logan’s official festive feast – and all in the name of good causes.

The City of Logan Christmas Lunch at the Logan Metro Sports and Events Centre is Council’s annual yuletide charity fundraiser.

Players from Brisbane Roar FC and guests donated presents and dug deep for six charities – Able Australia “Caddies”, Family and Kids Care Foundation, Kingdom Light Centre, Kingston East Neighbourhood Group, Lighthouse Care and the Logan East Community Centre.

City of Logan Acting Mayor Cherie Dalley said the lunch was not just about giving to charity but also about celebrating the extraordinary organisations and individuals in Logan.

“Christmas is a time for giving, and every year this event reflects so much about the incredible heart and spirit of our city,” Cr Dalley said.

“This year’s Christmas Lunch saw more than 500 people get into the festive spirit and help some deserving charities in the process.”

The City of Logan Christmas Carols is the next official Council Christmas event.

Headlined by former Australian Idol winner Stan Walker the event promises a fun-filled night of entertainment with carols, kids’ rides, food trucks, free photos with Santa, fireworks, the Grinch Christmas show and local community choirs.

The City of Logan Christmas Carols is at the Griffith University Logan campus on Saturday, December 15 from 4.30pm.
