City of Logan’s Toy Drive gets into gear
Published: 24 November 2016
With Christmas just around the corner, now is the time to donate to the City of Logan Mayor’s Christmas Toy Drive.
City of Logan Mayor Luke Smith said toys and gifts collected through the drive would be given to children across the city by local charities.
“Charities do amazing work all year to help people doing it tough in our community but Christmas can be a particularly busy time for them,” Mayor Smith said.
“One of the great privileges of my role as Mayor is to support our local charities through the toy drive.
“The generosity people have shown during previous Christmas appeals has been truly humbling, an act of giving that really captures the spirit of what our city is about.
“All of the toys and gifts we collect will be donated to disadvantaged children who might not otherwise have the chance to unwrap a present on Christmas Day.
“I’d like to thank the volunteers who dedicate their time to helping others and urge people to think about how they can support local charities and local families in need this Christmas.”
Council will be accepting donations of toys and gifts under the Christmas tree at the City Administration Centre (150 Wembley Rd, Logan Central) between 1 and 20 December (weekdays, 8am to 5pm).
If you are planning to donate a gift, please mark it with details about its suitability for age and gender.
