Council statement regarding industrial action
Published: 4 June 2018
Logan City Council wishes to advise that minimal disruption to some council services may occur as a result of industrial action tomorrow.
Some union staff in administration, customer service and outdoor roles may be taking part in rolling stoppages as part of the action.
All Council functions will continue to operate however customers may experience some changes to the level of service.
Council is disappointed that the unions have taken industrial action after being offered paid meetings to consult with their members about the proposed Certified Agreement and after they had agreed to provide feedback to Council at the next Joint Consultative Committee scheduled for Wednesday.
Council believes it has put a fair, reasonable and affordable offer on the table which would result in Council continuing to be very competitive, in terms of what it pays its employees and the employment conditions it provides, when compared to other councils in South-East Qld and other employers in the Logan area.
