Creative input invited from Logan community
Logan residents are encouraged to have their say at a special forum on the future of arts and creativity in Queensland.

Logan residents are encouraged to have their say at a special forum next month on the future of arts and creativity in Queensland.

City Lifestyle and Community Committee Chairperson, Councillor Steve Swenson, said Regional Arts Services Network (RASN) would hold a consultation forum on behalf of Arts Queensland in Logan on Monday, December 3.

“We are one of two regional cities in South-East Queensland to have been selected to host a consultation forum in response to the Queensland Government’s Creating Queensland’s Future: 10-Year Roadmap for the arts, cultural and creative sector discussion paper,” Cr Swenson said.

The Logan forum is from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Logan Entertainment Centre.

The draft discussion paper asks Queenslanders to consider how the arts, cultural and creative sectors can address the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Cr Swenson said this was an ideal opportunity for organisations, groups, associations and individuals from the City of Logan to have their say.

“RASN wants them to come together and share their insights and views on how the arts, cultural and creative sector can best deliver positive social and economic outcomes for Queensland,” he said.

Cr Swenson said the feedback collected through the consultation would assist with the development of a 10-year roadmap, strategic action planning and Queensland Government investment in the arts, cultural and creative sector.

“I encourage anyone who is interested in the community to attend the forum on December 3.”

Bookings are essential.

The consultation process is also supported by a website - www.arts.qld.gov.au/roadmapconsultation - which offers the opportunity to engage in a survey or provide a submission.

Consultation closes at 5pm on December 18.
