Industrial action causes minimal disruption

Today’s industrial action at Logan City Council resulted in minimal disruption to council services.
Around 50 Council union members participated in the rolling work stoppages, a small portion of council’s approximate 2000 strong workforce.
Council’s proposed certified agreement, including the proposed wage increases is fair, financially responsible and affordable. Contrary to union claims, Logan City Council will maintain its reputation as one of the better paying councils in SEQ with favourable workplace benefits.
The offer seeks to improve wage relativities within Council’s workforce to ensure wage parity in relation to the work they perform.
Council is disappointed that the unions took action today given that negotiations for a new certified agreement are ongoing.
