The Logan community is invited to take a leaf out of next month’s Brisbane Writers Festival when Logan North Library hosts author Tim Ayliffe.
Tim is the Managing Editor of Television and Video for ABC News and the author of The Greater Good which was released in May.
City Lifestyle and Community Committee Chairperson, Councillor Steve Swenson, said the local session would be one of 150 events held during the festival from September 6 to 9.
Cr Swenson said Council was looking forward to hosting Tim on September 8.
“This free event will run from 10.30am at the library on Sports Drive, Underwood and I encourage all literary lovers to book in so they can hear Tim speak,” said Cr Swenson.
“We are excited to be part of this year’s Brisbane Writers Festival and host a local session.
“It is wonderful to be able to host Australian authors at our libraries and learn more about them.
“We look forward to hearing from Tim and his writing journey and how he crafted The Greater Good.”
Tim's 20 years as a journalist have helped shape battered war correspondent John Bailey, the central character in The Greater Good who will also feature in two more novels.
Psychologically scarred from his time in Iraq, Bailey is back working the crime beat in Sydney. In The Greater Good, he finds himself caught between the CIA and the Chinese when a prostitute whose clients have ties to the military and the government is found murdered in Sydney.
The second book in the John Bailey series, State of Fear, will hit bookshelves in July next year.
