Public notification period starts for proposed Cedar Grove wastewater treatment plant
Published: 20 February 2018
A statutory public notification period begins today for Logan City Council's development application for the first stage of the Cedar Grove wastewater treatment plant.
The material change of use application has been made to Economic Development Queensland (EDQ), which is the approving authority.
City Infrastructure Committee Chairman, Councillor Phil Pidgeon, said the Queensland Government required Council to provide adequate wastewater infrastructure to service the Greater Flagstone priority development area.
"Council submitted its application to EDQ in early 2017 and has subsequently responded to requests for further information," he said.
"The notification period of 20 business days runs from Monday 19 February to Friday 16 March 2018 and members of the community who want to give feedback about the application can do so to EDQ."
The MCU application (reference number DVE2017/826) can be viewed on EDQ’s website and is available for viewing in hard copy format at Council's customer service centres in Jimboomba, Logan Central and Beenleigh.
Written submissions can be posted to EDQ Development Assessment team, Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning, GPO Box 2202 Brisbane QLD 4001 or sent electronically via www.dilgp.qld.gov.au/edq/economic-development.html
A public notice about the application has also been placed at the Cedar Grove site and in local media.
