Upcoming Meadowbrook parking restrictions
Published: 28 November 2017
On-street parking north of University Drive in Meadowbrook will soon change, with new restrictions to come into effect next year.
Under the changes, two-hour parking restrictions will apply during business hours on week days on all streets north of University Drive to Ficus Park unless otherwise signed.
Division 6 Councillor Stacey McIntosh said residents and their visitors would still be permitted to park in the area for longer than two hours if they displayed free parking permits.
“This move came following extensive community consultation and is all about improving Meadowbrook residents’ access to their homes and their streets,” Cr McIntosh said.
“Parking permits will only be issued to residents living in the street.”
Cr McIntosh said there would be a two month grace period before parking enforcement started in the area.
“This will give residents plenty of time to apply for their free parking permits.
“This grace period will begin when the new parking signs are first installed, which we expect to be in January next year.”
Signs will be installed on entry roads and strategic locations notifying motorists of this change, rather than signing every street.
The grace period does not apply to existing timed parking or no stopping restricted areas.
Application forms for residential parking permits are available on Council's website logan.qld.gov.au/parking.
There is no charge when applying for or renewing parking permits.
Two hour parking restrictions will apply Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.
