Beenleigh Summit

Ideally situated between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Beenleigh is positioning itself to be the next boom town.

The Beenleigh Summit, on Wednesday, October 25, is the second in a series of summits held by Logan City Council to unlock the potential of its city centres.

The Summit brings together experts in place design, infrastructure policy, urban innovation and development to discuss the key projects, ideas and initiatives that will drive future growth in Beenleigh.

The event will be facilitated by Amanda Newbery from Articulous Communications and guest speakers include the CEO and founder of Place Score Kylie Legge, former Adelaide Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood and Jock Fairweather, founder and director of Little Tokyo Two, Brisbane's largest and most collaborative co-working and event space.

Business and the public are urged to register to attend to take part in discussions around future priority projects and throw their ideas into the mix.

“Beenleigh’s future is limited only by the imagination and ingenuity of its businesses and people,” City of Logan Mayor Luke Smith said.

“I urge anyone who wants to see Beenleigh become a smart city of the future to register for this event, contribute their ideas and be part of its growth.”

Division 12 Councillor Jennie Breene said Beenleigh has already taken giant leaps forward in positioning itself as the south east’s CBD of the future.

“Beenleigh has already rejuvenated its centre with the completion of the Town Square and the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre redevelopment, which is currently in the advanced planning stages, will add yet another state of the art attraction,” Cr Breene said.

“There’s also a lot of strong business interest in our city so it’s important we plan it in a way that is sustainable and ensures future needs and growth are catered for.”
