The best of Logan City Council’s workforce has been honoured for their efforts in a challenging year for council.

The Employee Excellence Awards received a record 43 nominations across seven categories that honour employees whose imagination and professional skills improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Council.

Acting Mayor Cherie Dalley said the number of entrants, and the quality of the winners, showed why Council is a Local Government employer of choice.

“This year’s award winners are typical of council’s community-minded approach to the way it delivers services to the community,” Acting Mayor Cherie Dalley said.

“The fact that they have beaten out a record number of entries demonstrates the depth of quality across the organisation.

“Ratepayers can have confidence that they have a council dedicated to serving them in innovative and dynamic ways that make Logan a great place to live.”

The Outstanding Service to Council Awards (OSCA) were held in conjunction with the Employee Excellence Awards.

The OSCAs formally acknowledge the leadership efforts of Council staff who proactively and consistently demonstrate a leadership quality in their teams, charitable organisations or community groups.
