Inspired by the worldwide pop culture phenomenon Star Wars, Logan City Council Libraries will hold themed school holiday workshops for young people in early December.
City Lifestyle and Customer Services Committee Chairperson Councillor Steve Swenson said each of the city’s libraries would hold the workshops in the lead-up to the launch of the latest movie in the popular movie franchise.
“The Last Jedi will be the eighth film since the first graced movie screens 40 years ago back in 1977,” Cr Swenson said.
“It’s been two years since the franchise’s last movie was released so Star Wars fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing the new movie which will be released in Australia on 14 December.”
Cr Swenson said each of Logan City Council’s Libraries would be hosting workshops with Bricks 4 Kidz in the lead-up to the big event.
“Through these workshops, participants will be able to make Star Wars models from Lego.
“They will be able to make unique models that represent characters or creations from the movies.”
The workshops are open to children aged over five-years-old and include:
*Logan Central Library: 11 December – 10am
*Logan West Library: 11 December – 12.30pm
*Jimboomba Library: 11 December – 3pm

Cr Swenson said bookings for all sessions were essential and can be made by contacting any Logan City Council Library or online at www.loganlibraries.org/whats-on
