Logies for Logan as Channel Nine rolls out red carpet at Eats & Beats

The magic of television will be showcased this month at Logan’s Eats & Beats when Channel Nine brings a sneak peak of the TV Week Logies to Jimboomba.
The popular food truck festival will return to Jimboomba next Friday (23 March) for a night of delicious goodies and soulful tunes.
City Image Committee Chairperson Councillor Laurie Smith said this month’s event would be held from 5pm to 9pm at Jimboomba’s Rotary Park in Cusack Lane.
Cr Smith said representatives from Channel Nine would be turning on the TV magic and setting up a special area to capture the excitement of the TV WEEK Logies, coming to Queensland for the first time this year.
The Gold Coast recently won the right to host the ceremony on 1 July as part of a four-year deal with the Queensland Government.
“Our Logan Logies area will include a media wall and a replica Logie statue as well as a red carpet for Eats & Beats visitors to walk and get into the spirit of things,” Cr Smith said.
“It will add a touch of Hollywood to the night and get everyone excited about Queensland hosting the Logies later this year.”
Cr Smith said Eats & Beats was a ‘pop up’ event which moved around the City of Logan monthly, showcasing its various suburbs.
“Eats & Beats is a free family friendly event with various delicious food trucks from all over and amazing talent all night.
“Each month we present some of South-East Queensland’s best food trucks along with a changing line-up of local musicians and entertainers.
“Since its establishment in 2015, Eats & Beats has travelled to Browns Plains, Logan Central, Beenleigh and Logan Hyperdome and every time thousands of people from those communities and beyond have come along for a great night out.”
Cr Smith said Council was looking forward to this month’s event.
“Unfortunately wet weather forced us to cancel last month’s event at Beenleigh which was supposed to be the first Eats & Beats for 2018.
“It will be great to now launch this year’s program out at Jimboomba.”
