Nominate your local hero

The City of Logan is home to many outstanding citizens who toil away with little recognition.
But once a year on our national day they get a chance to bask in the spotlight, however reluctantly.
If you know someone who deserves recognition for their contribution to our city, nominate them for a City of Logan Australia Day Award.
We’re looking for a Citizen of the Year and a Young Citizen of the Year.
City of Logan Acting Mayor Cherie Dalley said Logan is home to many people who deserve acknowledgement.
“It’s never easy choosing a winner as we always receive so many quality entries,” Cr Dalley said.
“Whether it’s through their career or as a volunteer in their spare time we are so grateful to those who, through their efforts, make Logan an even greater place to live.
“Please don’t hesitate to nominate them as not only is it a fitting reward for them personally, it can also bring attention to the causes they advocate.”

Logan City Council has staged the awards since 1983 to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations in our community.
In the national Australian of the Year awards, Logan entrepreneur and social advocate Tony Sharp, is the Queensland nominee for the Australian of the Year award.
Regents Park man Elijah Buol is the Queensland nominee in the Local Hero category.
Mr Buol, a child refugee, is a Criminologist and the Director of the Ethnic Communities Council.
