Pokemon ready to rumble at Eats and Beats
Published: 25 July 2016
The race to capture Pokemon will ramp up in Berrinba Wetlands this Friday when the City of Logan’s favourite food truck festival rolls into Browns Plains.
Players tapped into the Pokemon Go mobile game experience can expect to find plenty of new creatures to collect during the free Friday night event.
The virtual treats being dished up for Pokemon trainers add to the line-up of entertainment that includes free live music and delicious meals from more than 25 food trucks to warm up winter diners.
A Pokemon Go walk will start in the wetlands from 4pm, finishing at 5pm for the opening of Eats and Beats.
A charging kiosk will be available for Pokemon trainers in need of re-charging their devices and Council will also have lures ready to attract Pokemon throughout both events.
City Image Chairperson, Councillor Laurie Smith, said the recent Pokemon craze would add a new dimension to the popular community event.
“Staff have created a Pokemon map of Berrinba Wetlands so people playing the game can discover collectables around the site on the night,” he said.
“Those who have no idea what Pokemon are, and that includes me, don’t need to be playing the game to have fun at Eats and Beats.
“We’ll still have a fantastic selection of food trucks to satisfy almost any craving and some terrific live music from local musicians too.
“One of the advantages of having Eats and Beats at Berrinba Wetlands is that the site has plenty of free parking for people.
“That said, it’s always good to beat the dinner time rush by getting there early.
“The early bird gets the worm, or in this case, the Pokemon.”
