Wildlife displays will be just some of the attractions on offer at LEAF 2015.

Learn about how you can make a positive difference to the environment at Logan City Council's free Logan Eco Action Festival (LEAF) on Sunday 31 May, with live music, delicious organic food, wildlife displays and heaps of children's activities.

Griffith University's Logan Campus will once again host LEAF - the popular sustainable lifestyle event, which has attracted more than 15,000 people over the past three years who are eager to live more sustainably and eco-friendly.

Parks, Health, Environment and Sustainability Committee Chair, Councillor Trevina Schwarz (Division 11), said LEAF was an excellent opportunity for people to learn new ways to live more cleanly and greenly.

"If you are thinking about getting solar panels for your home or business but not sure where to start, or you would you like to volunteer some of your time to a local community-based organisation, then LEAF is the place to go for answers," Cr Schwarz said.

"A lot of people might want to make some small changes to the way they live, but just need a helping hand to get started. That's where LEAF can really make a difference.

"There will be a mini-village – offering stalls, workshops and demonstrations – designed to help people make educated and informed choices about sustainability by changing the way they live and considering how those choices affect the environment.

"Of course, like in previous years, there will also be plenty of activities on offer for people of all ages, from giant slides and jumping castles to wall climbs and Segway rides."

This year's theme is 'Reducing avoidable waste'.

Cr Schwarz said festival attendees, staff, volunteers, entertainers and exhibitors were being asked to 'Refill not Landfill' by bringing their own reusable water bottle.

"Water stations will be located around the festival site to allow people to fill up throughout the day," she said.

LEAF 2015 will be held on Sunday 31 May at Griffith University, Logan Campus, Meadowbrook, from 10am to 3pm.
