The first stage in the process was to seek expressions of interest from the market. This opened on 25 May 2019 and closed on 20 August 2019.
After shortlisting solutions the alliance made recommendations to their respective councils to continue or exit the process in October and November 2020. The four councils below remain active in the procurement process:
Logan City Council
Ipswich City Council
Redland City Council
Lockyer Valley Regional Council.
In mid-2021, a further evaluation process on shortlisted solutions was undertaken and presented to these Councils.
Following consideration of this evaluation, Logan City Council, Ipswich City Council and Redland City Council remain involved in the joint investigation of establishing a new Materials Recovery Facility to receive, sort and process the contents of the yellow lid recycling bins. The next step in the process is to undertake an early tenderer involvement process with the shortlisted respondents.
The Councils will continue to release updated information about this project as it progresses.
