Cultural projects

We develop cultural projects to benefit the broader Logan Community. If you're a visual artist, writer, musician, dancer or performer, our cultural projects could be great for your professional development and networking. If cultural projects and the arts interest you, you can use this page to connect with a range of exciting activities in Logan.

We currently support the following cultural projects:

Logan City Council Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy 2023 to 2027

In 2023, we developed a strategy to guide our activities in arts, culture and heritage. The Logan City Council Arts, Culture and Heritage Plan 2023 to 2027 (PDF 1.3 MB) was developed in consultation with people from our community. The strategy builds on our past achievements and describes our future plans. Printed copies of the strategy are available at the Logan Art Gallery and our libraries.

Cultural mapping project

In 2011, we asked artists and cultural organisations across Logan to give us their thoughts about the arts and cultural activities currently on offer across the city. Their feedback helped us to revise the cultural map of Logan. You can find out what the community said by downloading Logan's Cultural Map (PDF 2.2 MB).

Logan Live

Logan Live aims to build the capacity of the live music scene in the City of Logan. Logan Live is a series of ‘Boost’ professional development sessions, and a month of live music in July. It will also:

  • lift the profile of performers and raise awareness of musical talent in Logan
  • value-add to the cafe/restaurant experience
  • support Logan businesses through promotion of the program and their venue
  • add to cultural tourism.

It’s all about leaving a legacy where business owners continue to engage performers even after the program ends. They see the value that live performances provide to their businesses and the community as a whole.

Logan Artworkers Networking Events (LANE)

Each month, LANE gives artists from Logan and surrounding areas an opportunity to share their thoughts about current projects. The events involve discussions about topics that are relevant to artists from broad artistic backgrounds.

Regional Arts Development Fund

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) helps arts and cultural workers develop their careers.

RADF can help fund a range of activities, like:

  • individual professional development opportunities

We encourage professionals from all art forms to apply, including:
