Change your bin size

You can choose between the following sized bins:

Waste (red or dark green lid)	Recycle (yellow lid)	Optional green waste (lime green lid)
140 litre - small	140 litre - small	140 litre - small
240 litre -standard size	240 litre (standard size)	240 litre (standard size)
	360 litre - large	360 litre - large

Recycle bin

You can change the size of your recycling bin as this does not affect the property owner's rates. You can choose between a 140, 240 or 360 litre recycling bin.

Your bin must be empty to be swapped. If your bin already has rubbish in it, you can either:

remove the rubbish from the bin and lodge a request for the bin to be replaced, or
lodge a request after your scheduled collection day.

If you would like to swap your bin for a different size, please fill in:

download and fill in the Application to change recycle bin size - tenants (PDF 468 KB) and return it to us.

After you have lodged your request, you will need to:

put your empty bin out on the kerb until it has been replaced (contractors cannot go onto your property to replace your bin)
the bin will be replaced within 1 to 3 working days
if you live in a complex or have a support service, place your bin where it would normally get emptied.

Waste bin

Changing the size of your waste bin will affect the property owner's rates. If you want to change the size of your waste bin, please contact your real estate agency or the property owner.

If you pay for an extra waste, recycling or green waste bin you can change the size of the bin at renewal time. We will send you a renewal invoice which will explain how you can change the size of your bins before you renew this service for another 12 months.

Property owners

download and fill in the Application to change domestic bin service form (PDF 221 KB) and return it to us.

After you have lodged your request, you will need to:

put your empty bin out on the kerb until it has been replaced (contractors cannot go onto your property to replace your bin)
the bin will be replaced within 1 to 3 working days
if you live in a complex or have a support service, place your bin where it would normally get emptied.
