Active People - Travel Assistance

Logan residents will have more opportunities to enjoy sport and recreation in the city thanks to a partnership between Logan City Council and the Brisbane Lions Australian Football Club.

The Active People - Travel Assistance Grants program covers the direct expenses related to representative sport and are able to be used towards:

  • direct travel and accommodation expenses
  • compulsory competition fees
  • compulsory competition uniforms.

Applicants must provide Evidence of Residency on their application form.

Eligible applicants can apply for up to:

  • $300 for all state and national events
  • $500 for all international events
  • $300 for international events held in Australia.

Individuals are eligible to apply for a maximum amount of $1,000 per financial year, however are only eligible to submit one application per round.

Active People - Club Equipment

Logan residents will have more opportunities to enjoy sport and recreation in the city thanks to a partnership between Logan City Council and the Brisbane Lions Australian Football Club.

Logan City Council is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the Logan Community and by partnering with sport and recreation organisations a real change can be achieved.

The Active People - Club Equipment provides organisations that are based in Logan with an opportunity to apply for financial assistance towards equipment required for participation on training and game days.

Active Spaces - Maintenance

The Active Spaces - Maintenance program provides the City's sport and recreation organisations with an opportunity to apply for financial assistance towards their highest priority maintenance projects.

Organisations are able to apply for matched funding up to $5,000 for items such as canteen/kitchen maintenance, facility maintenance, playing field maintenance and hard court surface maintenance.

Active Spaces - Upgrade/New Facility

The Upgrade or New Facility Program provides sport, recreation and community organisations with an opportunity to partner with Logan City Council by submitting a project that they feel is worthy of receiving Council support in preparing funding submissions for external funding sources including the Queensland Government's Get in the Game - Get Playing Places and Spaces Fund and also the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

Please note funding from the Queensland Government's Get in the Game - Get Playing Places and Spaces Fund is subject to the State Government releasing their Queensland Sport and Recreation Strategy and associated grant funding programs for 2019.

Active Organisations - Grant Writer

Council's Active Organisations - Grant Writer Program is available to not for profit, incorporated sport, recreation and community organisations that work within the boundaries of Logan City.

This program aims to assist organisations to source funding opportunities with the support of a professional grant writer. In addition, the program aims to ensure the organisation gains the skills, knowledge and experience that will enable them to develop future grant submissions.

Active Organisations - Sport, Recreation & Community Lessee Forum

The Annual Sport, Recreation and Community Lessee Forum was held on Wednesday 7 August 2019.

The 2019 Forum provided an opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers who imparted knowledge, experience and tools to assist organisations to provide access to all.
