Community training program

The Community training program offers volunteers, community groups and organisations free development opportunities to:

  • inspire new ideas
  • develop awareness
  • build skills and knowledge
  • connect and learn with others.

Please note:

  • the training sessions and workshops listed below are subject to change
  • all sessions are free unless otherwise stated
  • due to high demand spaces are limited to one person’s attendance per organisation. We thank you for your understanding
  • these workshops are available for individual volunteers, groups and service organisations working and providing support within the Logan community.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) delivered by Lifeline

Attend the award-winning ASIST two-day workshop and learn to:

  • recognize people at risk of suicide
  • talk to them, hear their stories, and understand their situations, then
  • help them stay safe with a life-affirming intervention.

The ASIST workshop is open to anyone 16 or older. A certificate of attendance will be issued however, participants must complete the entire two-day training in full.

Belong Training delivered by Brook RED

Belong Training is designed to increase capacity to create affirming spaces and practice when supporting and working with LGBTIQIAP+ people. We hope to fill knowledge gaps and increase the confidence and skill of people to work with members of the LGBTQIAP+ community.
