Celebrate National Op Shop Week 2018!  Sunday 30 September to Saturday 6 October

SHOP: Did you know that the Logan Recycling Market is a great place to grab yourself a pre-loved bargain! There are toys, furniture, bric-a-brac, bikes, clothes and so much more.

DONATE: You can also donate good quality items for the Logan Recycling Market whenever you visit one of Council’s waste and recycling facilities.

HELP: Every purchase you make helps make a difference, with a share of the profits going to local charities.

Logan Recycling Market and cafe is open Friday to Monday from 10am – 5pm.

FREE Rethinking Waste at Home community workshop: Saturday 13 October, 2018

This workshop will demonstrate practical ways to help the environment and save money by reducing you waste footprint at home.  If you want to clear up the myths around recycling, learn what happens once your waste is collected from your home and are keen to learn how you can further avoid, reduce and reuse your waste materials, then this workshop is for you.

Workshop date: Saturday 13 October 2018

Venue: Browns Plains Waste and Recycling Facility, 41 Recycle Way, Heritage Park.

The workshop will include a behind-the-scene bus tour of the tip face and recycling facilities. Refreshments and morning tea is provided and there will be compost bin giveaways for 5 lucky workshop participants.

Registration: The workshop is free of charge to members of the Logan community but registrations are required. To register your place, contact 3457 2400 or email loganwe@envirocom.com.au. Children over the age of 10 are welcome to attend.

Logan Waste Fair: FREE family friendly event, Saturday 17 November 2018

Bring your family and friends and enjoy:

  • a display of heavy machinery used at the Browns Plains Landfill
  • a behind the scenes guided bus tour of the “tip face” and recycling facilities
  • composting, worm farming and recycling workshops and information displays
  • creating your own piece of upcycled art during the recycled tile mosaic workshop and demonstration facilitated by Reverse Garbage Queensland
  • a visit to the Recycling Market Coffee Shop

FREE Compost and Worm Farming community workshops: Saturday 8 December 2018 and Saturday 9 March 2019

These workshops will teach you how to successfully establish and maintain a home composting and worm farming system, providing options for different styles and methods of organic recycling.

Workshop dates: Saturday 8 December 2018 and Saturday 9 March 2019

Venue: Browns Plains Waste and Recycling Facility, 41 Recycle Way, Heritage Park from 10:00am-12:00pm.

The workshops will include a behind-the-scene bus tour of the tip face and recycling facilities. Refreshments and morning tea is provided and there will be compost bin giveaways for 5 lucky participants at each workshop.
