Waste Vouchers

Four waste vouchers are provided with the July-September rates notice, to ratepayers with a domestic bin service on their account.

These vouchers can be used to dispose of general waste and construction and demolition loads for free, and are valid until the following July.

Vouchers are not available to ratepayers of commercial properties.

Frequently asked questions

I am the owner and did not receive any waste vouchers in the July account.

Please first check your rates notice to confirm you pay for a domestic bin service.

Next check the flyers, inserts and envelopes included with the rates notice, as it's possible you may have accidentally disposed of the vouchers with the excess paper. The voucher leaflet is brightly coloured and designed to catch your eye. The colour changes every year.

If you are certain you did not receive the vouchers, replacements can be provided by mail upon provision of proof of property ownership (e.g. email a copy of your rates notice).

Replacements can also be obtained by attending a Customer Service Centre with proof of property ownership.

Please note: replacement vouchers are only provided once per financial year.

My rates are sent by e-mail, not posted out. Will I receive vouchers?

Ratepayers who receive their notices by e-mail or BPAY View will be mailed their entitlement of waste vouchers in separate correspondence. Please ensure your mailing address is kept up to date with Council. You may need to allow several weeks for your vouchers to arrive.

My vouchers have been lost/stolen/thrown out.

Vouchers are like cash. We regret that vouchers that have been lost, accidentally disposed of or stolen are not replaceable.

Residents can make use of the annual Kerbside Clean Up.

I am a new owner and did not receive any waste vouchers as I did not get the July account.

You can attend a Customer Service Centre with proof of ownership once settlement has occurred. Please provide evidence of sale.

Alternatively, vouchers can be provided by mail upon provision of evidence of sale (e.g. email the relevant pages of your contract of sale).

I have only just ordered bins for my new house. Do I have to wait until next July to get vouchers?

You can attend a Customer Service Centre with a copy of your rates notice and identification to collect vouchers.

I am a tenant. Can I have vouchers too?

Vouchers are only provided to the rates account holder for each property.

Tenants can contact their managing agent or property owner to ask for the vouchers. Tenants can also make use of the annual Kerbside Clean Up.

I am a tenant and the owner of property/real estate won't give me the vouchers they received?

Providing vouchers to tenants is at the discretion of the property owner or agent. This will need to be discussed with them. Logan City Council will not make decisions on this.

I am a tenant of a Department of Housing property. Can I get waste vouchers?

Yes. Vouchers may be obtained by contacting the Department of Housing.

Owners of a non-strata titled, domestic multi-unit property may be eligible to receive additional waste vouchers.

Property managers of these types of premises will need to contact the Waste Services administration team on 3412 5329 to arrange provision of vouchers for residents within the complex.
