Water Wagon

Logan residents can now “chill out” and “Choose Tap” at selected events across the city.

We have joined the "Choose Tap" community-based initiative which promotes tap water as the healthiest hydration option. By choosing tap water, you will save money and help reduce the environmental impact of single-use plastic bottles.

The new Logan 'Water Wagon' will offer free chilled drinking water at selected events throughout the year. We are excited to be involved in this great initiative and hope to make it easier for the community to access free drinking water at events.

The Water Wagon has five water dispensers on each side which makes it quick and easy to fill your water bottle. The Water Wagon uses town water, which we constantly monitor to make sure the quality exceeds the requirements of the world-leading Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

We also encourage residents to adopt the "Choose Tap" mantra at home. Drinking water is not only great for your health, it is also good for your hip pocket and the environment. Did you know that consuming 1,000 litres of water from your tap costs just over $4? If you buy the same amount in single-use bottles from the supermarket, the price skyrockets to more than $600. Also, over 40% of all bottles end up in landfill as litter.

We encourage residents to visit the Water Wagon and refill their water bottles. Watch this space for more details about where the Water Wagon will be visiting in 2019, and bring your own bottle.

The Water Wagon is booked to attend the following events:

  • 25 October 2019 - Eats and Beats, Rotary Park Jimboomba.
  • 14 December 2019 - The City of Logan Carols, Griffith University, Meadowbrook.
