Desexing

Desexing prevents pets from roaming, fighting or causing nuisance to neighbours, as well as reducing the number of unwanted kittens and puppies. It is illegal to breed kittens or puppies without the appropriate Breeders Approval and be in possession of a Supply Number.

In females, desexing significantly reduces the risk of urine infections and mammary cancer. In males, it significantly reduces the risk of cancer of the prostate gland. Desexing your pet can now be done from eight weeks of age or one kilogram in weight.

You will receive a significant discount on your pets registration if it is desexed. Provide Council with a copy of your pets desexing certificate to receive this discount.

The City of Logan is proud to support the RSPCAs desexing initiative, Operation Wanted.
