We host and promote a range of information and workshop sessions to help organisations and individuals apply for grants.
Sessions may include:
- information on specific grant guidelines and selection criteria
- grant writing tips and tricks
- a chance to talk face-to-face with a council grant officer.
Grants Assist
Meet with our Community Grants team and get help with all your grants questions. In these one-on-one or small group sessions you can ask questions and work through your funding application on the spot.

Grant writing workshops
Come along and learn about Logan City Council grant programs. Each session will:
- provide practical information about our grant programs
- explain the grants process and how to apply
- offer tips about how to develop an application
- give you confidence using the SmartyGrants online portal for applications.
We have designed these sessions to be as interactive as possible and include a focus topic, guest speakers and networking with like-minded organisations and our Community Grants team.
Focus topics
- What grants do Council offer? - These information sessions will help applicants understand the different grant programs (including funding amounts, key dates, timeframes and guidelines) and cover basic steps of applying for a grant using Council’s grants management system, SmartyGrants.
- Preparing for a grant application and persuasive writing for grant applications - presented by CPR Group.
- Am I Grant Ready? - This session will provide practical, useful and transferrable information about how to approach grant writing.
- How to develop a project budget
- Risk assessments – Who, where, when, why and how.
- Funding acquittals
- Top tips for grant writing success.
