Health services – COVID-19

Respiratory clinics

If you think you have symptoms of COVID-19 you can contact a clinic to be assessed and get clinical advice.

GP respiratory clinics provide clinical assessments for people with possible COVID-19 symptoms (a fever, cough, shortness of breath, a sore throat and / or tiredness) with no patient cost.

Getting tested

We need more people to get tested for COVID-19.

Getting tested will help us find as many cases in the community as quickly as possible.

This will ensure we are doing everything we can to manage Queensland’s response to the pandemic.

If you have any of the following COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested:

  • Fever
  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose
  • Loss of smell and/or taste
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue

Call emergency services on 000 if you are very sick.

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, you can visit:

Your local doctor

Before your appointment, please call ahead and tell them about your symptoms so they can prepare for your visit.

Fever clinics

Fever clinics are specialist clinics managed by Hospital and Health Services that assess people who may be infected with COVID-19.

These clinics help to keep people who may be contagious away from other areas of hospitals and health centres.

This helps to reduce the potential spread of the virus and keeps the emergency department available for emergencies.

Please be aware that during peak periods the wait times at our fever clinics could be a few hours.

While you wait please remember to social distance.
