Logan Koala Count 2023 – iNaturalist Koala Observations Competition
- The promoter is Logan City Council (Council) whose registered office is at 150 Wembley Road, Logan Central QLD 4114.
- Employees of Council or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
- By entering the competition, the entrant agrees that they are either over the age of 18 years or are between the ages of 13 – 18 years and have parental permission to participate.
- One entry per person only. No additional entries will be awarded to persons who surpass the entry criteria.
- There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
- To enter the competition, the participant must:
- upload verifiable koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) observations (sightings, scats and/or audio recordings)
- captured from within the Logan City Council Local Government region
- during the competition period (12.00am 25 September 2023 to 11.59pm 8 October 2023)
- to the iNaturalist platform.
- All observations between this period must be uploaded by 11.59pm Monday 9 October 2023. Observations within the Logan City Council Local Government region will automatically be added to the “Logan Koala Count 2023” project. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control.
- Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
- The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
- No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prize is not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
- The major prize will be one Family Pass (2 Adults + up to 2 Children) to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (708 Jesmond Road, Fig Tree Pocket QLD 4069) valued at $145.
- The runner-up prize will be one Visa gift card valued at $50.
- The major and runner-up prize winners will be drawn at random at 150 Wembley Road, Logan Central QLD 4114 on Wednesday 11 October 2023.
- The winners will be notified by direct message on iNaturalist within 28 days of the closing date. If the winners cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 7 calendar days of notification, the promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winners and pick a replacement winner.
- The Promoter will notify the winners when and where the prize can be collected.
- The promoter reserves the right to conduct a redraw if an entrant, claiming to be a winner or qualifier, is unable to satisfy the terms or has breached the terms.
- The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image if applicable being used in any publicity material regarding this competition.
- Any personal data relating to the winner, or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with Council’s privacy policy and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
- Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
- This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with iNaturalist, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Facebook, Twitter or any other Social Network.
