Patrons at Logan Libraries will join a nation-wide reading activity during the 2023 National Simultaneous Storytime.

The featured book The Speedy Sloth, by author Rebecca Young, will be read throughout Australia on Wednesday, May 24 at locations including libraries, schools, bookshops, pre-schools, childcare centres and family homes.

More than 2.18 million participants took part in the event last year at more than 59,000 locations.

This year’s free Simultaneous Storytime is from 11am at Marsden, Logan North, Beenleigh, Logan West and Jimboomba libraries.

Greenbank and Logan Hyperdome libraries are also participating as part of their regular weekly storytime sessions on Wednesday, May 24.

Sessions there will commence at 10:15am (Logan Hyperdome Library) and 10:30am (Greenbank Library).

The Speedy Sloth reminds people that winning does not always mean beating everyone else. Instead, it is the feeling people get from setting themselves a challenge, conquering their fears or trying something new.

Bookings are suggested and can be made online at Logan Libraries.
