Council libraries support United Nations' disabilities day
Logan City Council's libraries are supporting today's United Nations International Day of People with Disabilities with a number of planned activities this week.
Marsden Library will host a Sensory Night In for the community.
It will be held from 6pm Thursday, December 5.
The library’s popular Sensory Space will be the venue for a night of child-led sensory fun in a welcoming and judgement-free space.
Patrons can explore the sensory kits, play games or discover robotics.
The space includes a bubble tube, touch screen, tablets and wall toys.
Logan band The KingStones will also perform at Marsden Library.
They will be there from 10am this Friday, December 6.
The band is a high energy group of young people with an intellectual disability.
They will present some children’s classics and original music.
Council also operates an Accessibility Centre at Logan North Library.
It includes computers, equipment and resources for people with vision, hearing and mobility disabilities and learning difficulties.
The centre is open during library opening hours.
