Move it Logan program delivers results
A new Logan program is delivering benefits to its young participants.
Underwood four-year-old Dexter Grant has Autism and ADHD and has been attending adaptive gymnastic sessions at FunFit Gymnastics since June as part of the Move it Logan program.
His mum Bec Grant said Dexter loved the sessions with FunFit Gymnastics owner Helen Page.
“Not only is Helen amazing at what she does but she understands kids with special needs,” Mrs Grant said.
“She incorporates all elements of therapies into her sessions and we have seen such an improvement with Dexter since he started with her.
“Dexter has low muscle tone and weak stomach and back muscles and struggles with his fine and gross motor skills and his speech.
“He’s following instructions, working on his social skills and speech and getting that physical activity that is so important for his development.
“Helen is so passionate and really goes out of her way with Dexter.
“We are so happy with Dexter’s progress and are so appreciative that he is part of this amazing program.
“I love it and would recommend it to everyone.”
Mrs Grant said Dexter attended the class each Wednesday morning at FunFit Gymnastics in Paxton St, Springwood.
Miss Page said she was pleased to be able to offer the program through the Move it Logan program.
“Many people are not aware of what is available and I would love to see more people participating,” she said.
