Role of the Interim Administrator

The Hon. Stirling Hinchcliffe MP appointed Ms Tamara O’Shea as Interim Administrator for Logan City Council. Ms O'Shea had all the responsibilities and powers of Mayor and councillors. She performed this role until the next local government election was held in March 2020.

Ms O'Shea was committed to making well-informed decisions under the law, legislation, policies and evidence.

She focused on the following key areas:

  • continuity of service
  • stable leadership
  • good governance.

Role of the Interim Management Committee

The Minister for Local Government, Racing and Multicultural Affairs established Logan’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) on 14 June 2019. The IMC supported the Interim Administrator with advice on a range of Council matters.

Four former councillors were appointed to the committee: Lisa Bradley, Laurie Koranski, Darren Power and Jon Raven. Mr Gary Kellar and Mr Brent Lillywhite were appointed as subject experts. They supported the Interim Administrator with specialist advice.

The Interim Management Committee was in place from 14 June 2019 until the next local government election was held in March 2020.
