Safe City Logan Symposium

Through the City of Logan Safe City Strategy and Action Plan 2016 – 2020 (PDF 13536 KB) we have committed to hold the Safe City Logan symposium every year until 2020.

The symposium aims to increase awareness and educate the community about safety issues.

2019 Safe City Logan Symposium

The 2019 Safe City Logan Symposium was held on 27 June 2019. The topic for the 2019 symposium was Cyber Safety. Participants heard from a range of industry expert speakers, including Hetty Johnston, Nicole Gibson and representatives from the Queensland Police Service on different cyber safety issues including:

  • Online bullying
  • Online fraud
  • Online sexual exploitation
  • Online child grooming.

The 2019 symposium was a great success with more than 100 people attending. Feedback from the symposium showed that:

  • 100% of attendees rated the event as either very good or good
  • 100% of attendees said the speakers were knowledgeable and informative and would recommend the symposium to a colleague.

Registrations for the next Safe City Logan Symposium will open in 2020 with the topic, speakers and registration details to be announced in due course.
