Logan City Council is replacing an existing culvert with a new concrete bridge on Scott Lane, North Maclean.
Construction on the new bridge started in late June 2021 and is expected to be completed in May 2022. The timing and duration of the works is subject to weather and construction conditions.
The $6.2 million Scott Lane Culvert Replacement Project is being funded from Council’s 2020/21 and 2021/22 Capital Roadworks & Drainage Programs and the Australian Government’s Bridges Renewals Program. For more information about the extent of works, please download the Notice of Works (PDF 597 KB).
Removal of the existing corrugated steel culvert
Construction of a new concrete bridge over the creek (approximately 3m higher than the existing road surface), with pedestrian facilities on the southern side.
Installation of fauna crossings
Reconstruction and raising of the road on the approaches on either side of the new bridge
Road resurfacing and line marking
Associated works including driveway and fence reconstructions, temporary service relocations, and general reinstatement works.
The bridge will provide a safer and more reliable crossing of the creek by increasing flood immunity of the road corridor and reducing the frequency and duration of road closures.
