Paint disposal
We can dispose of paint from households and commercial customers through the National Paintback Scheme. This free service is available at all our waste and recycling facilities.
Conditions apply to the paint disposal service.
- You can drop off up to 100L of paint at a time. If you have more than 100L of paint, please contact Cleanaway.
- Paint should be in containers of 20L or smaller.
- We have separate areas for water-based and oil-based paints. Please make sure you place your containers in the appropriate area.
Household chemical drop-off days
Logan residents can dispose of household chemicals free of charge on special chemical drop-off days. The dates are listed below. The service is available from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Browns Plains Waste and Recycling Facility – Saturday 2 November 2019
Carbrook Waste and Recycling Facility – Saturday 1 February 2020
Logan Village Waste and Recycling Facility – Saturday 1 February 2020
Greenbank Waste and Recycling Facility – Saturday 2 May 2020
Beenleigh Waste and Recycling Facility – Saturday 2 May 2020
On chemical drop-off days, Logan residents can dispose of up to 10L of each of the chemicals listed below.
- Solvent and water-based paint
- Photographic solutions
- Pesticides
- Pharmaceuticals
- Arsenic-based materials
- Acids
- Alkalis
- Solvents
- Pool chlorine
- Fire extinguishers (full or empty)
To prevent spillages and incidents, please make sure your containers are sealed and in good condition (not leaking).
We will not accept materials that do not fall into the categories described above. When you drop off the chemicals and paint, we will keep the containers they are in.
We accept hardened (dried) paint as general waste at all our waste facilities any time.
