Parks

Parks in Logan are a great place to have a picnic, take a walk, play with your dog or host a family barbecue. Some parks have sheltered areas, are by the river and even have ideal locations for weddings.

Park closures as of 26 May 2017

Logan City Council wishes to advise that due to recent flooding event a number of parks are currently closed or only partly open.

A list of closures is provided below so please check that parks are open and accessible before you visit. Council is working to ensure closed parks are restored and re-opened as soon as possible.

Alexander Clark Park

Open

Areas near the park entrance are open for general use including dog off leash area, monorail and large playground area.

Water barriers remain in place to restrict access to the lower sections of the park. The pathway clean-up works have commenced and are due to be completed (weather permitting) by Friday, 2 June.

Road repairs are scheduled to commence next week. Playgrounds and toilets will be assessed once access is established.

Spring Mountain Forest Park

Majority of the park is open for visitors.

Pinto Pathway repairs have taken longer than expected due to extensive damage and are now expected to be completed by Friday, 2 June.

Flesser Reserve

There are some areas of greenspace now open to visitors.  

Park is regularly assessed because large areas of the park are still too wet for the commencement of track repair and vegetation works.

This park will be inspected again mid-week for conditional assessment.

Jerry's Downfall Reserve

Albert River Park

The park green space, shelters, picnic areas, basketball court and skate park are open for visitors.

Open and grassed areas are being assessed regularly because large areas of the park are still wet for the commencement of ground repair works. This will be reassessed again on Tuesday, 30 th May.

Eagleby Wetlands

Boardwalks and all but one of the bird hides are open for visitors.Clearing of major rubbish and vegetative debris has been completed. Track repairs are to commence on Monday, 29 th May.

Logan River Parklands

The park green space, shelters, picnic areas and barbecues are open for visitors.

The dog off leash area has been fenced off and replacement works are due to commence Monday, 5 June.

The playground rubber soft fall has been removed and replacement works are anticipated to commence on 5th June.

Council has completed all road repair works.
